Song of the Day: Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man

Oh, take your time, don’t live too fast
Troubles will come and they will pass…

I first heard this song a decade ago, my dad was listening to it in the lounge on his casette player.

It’s not too heavy of a rock song, and the chorus has you humming along.

The words are inspirational and come from a mother to her son. She reminds him that life is full of difficulties, but he should not despair. She preaches just one mantra – live a simple life. Find meaning in the things around you.

I often find myself listen to this song, as it reminds me to stay grounded. A man should strive for finding his soul, not for the rich man’s gold.
