What does the Scout Within Me publish?

Our online magazine is targeted at an audience of men, and we expect our stories to come from those who understand them. Our readers include boy scouts, wanderers, travellers, gentlemen, and family men. Those wishing to learn more about hiking trails, survival tips, fashion trends, financial tips, fitness routines, dating and etiquette, far off destinations and hideouts, conservation, outdoor gear, book reviews, cocktails, and philosophy.

The articles are both inspirational and instructional for the man who wants to do it himself, and the aspiring boy wanting to be an appreciated gentleman.

The men who write these articles are those that have real experience in the field. The stories are raw accounts and a resource to others who are or will go through something similar.

Why might an article get rejected?

  • It is too short (700 words minimum) and not comprehensive enough.
  • It lacks actionable and helpful information for men.
  • It has been published elsewhere already.
  • It contains other peoples’ ideas or quotes and not your point of view.
  • It is poorly written and contains a lot of grammatical and spelling errors.
  • It is overly promotional for a specific company or product.

How long does it take for my articles to be published?

It may take up to a week for the sponsored post or contributed article to be accepted. It may take up to a week from then to appear on the site. The editorial team aims to be as responsive as possible. We get a high volume of submissions. If you have not heard back from us reach out to the [email protected] and we will investigate.
